This week’s Fuzzy Friday Feature comes to us all the way from South Africa’s KrugerNational Park where a group of tourists suddenly found themselves in the middle of a pretty extraordinary show and caught it all on tape! AS the impalas leapt over the vehicles and into the brush on the other side of the road, away from the two hungry cats, and out of site the tourists eagerly leaned out their windows hoping to get a clear view of the drama unfolding before them. However, no one was more surprised then the cheetahs who abruptly stopped in their tracks, not wanting to follow the antelope into the vehicle. Baffled, hungry and disappointed the two cats gave up their pursuit of the impala, which shortly after they left, hopped out of the SUV and trotted back to the safety of the brush. Some say “poor cheetahs” and that is understandable however after decades of watching National Geographic and Planet Earth, it was refreshing to see one at least one video where an impala did the impala-ossible, and got away.
